Vision Beyond Borders
During this period, L2N envisioned establishing its first overseas office in a developing or emerging country where it could contribute meaningfully to both Information & Communication Technology (ICT) and agriculture — integrating technology with nature.
To explore possibilities, the Managing Director of L2N Software Limited traveled across multiple Asian countries to identify a location that aligned with this vision.
Discovery of a Dream Destination
In 2017, Bhutan emerged as the most suitable and inspiring location for L2N’s first overseas branch. The country’s natural beauty, peaceful environment, and balanced development philosophy deeply resonated with L2N’s ideals.
Feasibility & Strategic Planning
A detailed feasibility study was conducted to assess the opportunities and challenges of setting up operations in Bhutan. L2N continued to explore the best possible approach to establish its overseas presence while maintaining alignment with Bhutan’s economic and environmental policies.
Turning Vision into Reality
In 2019, L2N’s dream became a reality as it officially began its overseas journey in Bhutan. Bhutan, the world’s only carbon-negative country, recognized for its unique Gross National Happiness (GNH) philosophy, became home to L2N’s first overseas office at Thimphu TechPark.
Resilience During the Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted regular activities in both Bangladesh and Bhutan. Despite the uncertainty, L2N continued operations remotely, maintaining service delivery to clients through home-based work. The team’s adaptability ensured operations and client satisfaction remained uninterrupted.
Rebuilding and Redefining
By mid-2022, both offices in Bangladesh and Bhutan resumed on-site operations. Embracing decentralization and sustainable growth, L2N relocated its Bhutan office from Thimphu to Bumthang — a serene and energetic district ideal for L2N’s evolving philosophy.
The Bangladesh headquarters also underwent restructuring, emphasizing rural connectivity and community-based operations aligned with L2N’s long-term vision.
Expansion and Work–Life Balance
In 2023, L2N received official permission from the FDI Authority to relocate its Bhutan office from Thimphu to Bumthang and to introduce a horticulture wing — integrating Work–Life Balance within operations. The new office was established, land was identified for the horticulture project, and training programs began for local team members.
Recognition and Growth
In 2024, a representative from a German client visited the Bumthang office and praised L2N’s unique Work–Life Balance model that integrates IT and horticulture.
L2N also began its first walnut plantation using imported varieties from Turkey (via Kashmir), symbolizing growth — both in nature and enterprise.
Future Vision
L2N’s journey from vision to realization reflects its deep commitment to innovation, sustainability, and balance. With roots in technology and branches extending into nature, L2N continues to grow — nurturing both digital excellence and environmental harmony.
